Back to the source African retreats

Sometimes all you need is a space where you can have a fresh perspective on your everyday life.

A space to get inspired, to explore fresh versions of yourself, and to truly enjoy.

By the shores of Lake Victoria, the source of humanity, such a space exists, Adama retreats.

You’ll be amazed how much of your true potential can emerge when you are away from home, immersed in the source.

You will not only experience local African travel activities.

We are committed to make them meaningful experiences that will stay with you long after you return back home.

Our mission

Our mission is to provide a unique impactful experience, one that is rooted in human connectivity. The outcome is growth for our participants, and support for Bbanga Project’s school construction. We are pioneers, bringing the future of tourism to the present - an ethical, meaningful, regenerative and transformative tourism.

Our story

For over a decade, our NGO Bbanga Project has made a huge impact in education, women's empowerment, and environmental sustainability among Ssese islands communities. Our efforts were supported by bodies such as the Austrian ministry for climate action.

Our impact attracted travelers, volunteers and donors to the Ssese Islands. Witnessing the transformative effect these experiences had on both visitors and locals sparked the idea for Adama Retreats.

With Adama Retreats we have the intention to take the impact one step further. We took the time to develop a one-of-a-kind retreat, where people can connect, grow, and make a difference together. Now a new path for meaning is there, Adama.

Adama Retreats is Impact-, Experience- and Human-oriented

Impact

The Ssese Islands impacted us and changed who we are and how we see the world. We learned how to  appreciate the simple things and ourselves for who we are.
We impact others through our NGO Bbanga Project's initiatives.
Our retreat is your opportunity to empower yourself and impact others. Beyond participating in our NGO's activities, 25% of your payment goes directly to support the construction of a primary school.

Experience

Experience is the most enjoyable and meaningful way to be. Our retreat is your opportunity to explore, a beautiful African island and culture, but also your inner world. To relax, and reconnect with nature and likeminded people. And to experience things you never thought you would ever experience.

Human

During our retreat you will rediscover the Human in you and make deep connections with retreat co-participants, locals and their culture.
By being yourself and letting go you will share your qualities with others, and be open to receive goodness. This is real human connection.
